Abstract:
Economic diplomacy is an essential and valued facet of foreign policy. States widely use it to achieve their objectives. This research provides an in-depth analysis of economic diplomacy during the Albanian state’s early years, viewed through the lens of diplomatic and international studies. The diplomatic corps and missions of the time played a significant and unique role in its practice. The cooperation between central institutions, diplomatic bodies, and the participation of the business sector produced the first outcomes indicative of effective economic diplomacy. Joint chambers of commerce, international tourism and the display of domestic products at international fairs were all early steps of economic diplomacy. The extensive archival sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs related to diplomatic activities for product promotion underscore the significance assigned by the state to various forms of economic diplomacy.
